Lang Father is a Manhattan-born, Dublin- and New York-raised producer and composer whose artistic journey bridges the worlds of mainstream U.S. hip-hop and avant-garde electronic music. Emerging in the late 2010s, Lang first made a name for themselves within Brooklyn’s explosive drill scene, collaborating with key figures like Fivio Foreign and Sosa Geek. This early momentum culminated in a major production deal with legendary hitmaker Timbaland during the COVID-19 pandemic, opening doors to write and produce for high-profile artists ranging from Cardi B and Don Toliver to Fetty Wap, whose global top-five charting album marked Lang’s commercial peak.

However, a profound personal shift occurred in late 2021 when Lang suffered a severe manic episode that resulted in a hospital commitment in New York. This intense period of isolation and vulnerability became a creative turning point, transforming music from a commercial pursuit into a deeply therapeutic lifeline. While hospitalized, Lang began exploring the foundational dance and experimental sounds they grew up with, finding solace in the raw energies of UK garage, techno, noise, and avant-garde electronic composition as a means to rebuild and heal.

Seeking a fresh start and complete artistic immersion, Lang relocated to Berlin in early 2022, where they were quickly embraced by the city’s vibrant queer and techno communities. While continuing to contribute remotely to independent U.S. rap projects, Lang spent the next four years honing a singular, uncompromising solo voice. The resulting body of work is a visceral, deeply personal expression of mental illness, meticulously rendered through heavy distortion, relentless rhythms, fractured vocal samples, and bass-driven minimalist aesthetics. Now, after years of private development, Lang Father is ready to debut this powerful new sonic chapter to the world.
